THE HISTORY OF COSTA


• Circa 1900 Costa Family immigrates from Corleone, Sicily.

• 1923 Costa Macaroni Mfg. Co. was established by Mariano Costa and his three sons Dominic, John and Nick. in the Little Italy section of Los Angeles, making pasta by hand for local restaurants.

• 1930 Costa moves to a larger facility in East Los Angeles.

• 1956 Costa expands to new facility on Valley Blvd. in Los Angeles, when their building was purchased to make way for the Golden State Freeway 5.

• 1960 Costa expands its sales outside of California into Washington.

• 1993 Connie Zoccoli-Foster, a third generation Costa family member, becomes the 4th President of Costa Macaroni Mfg. Co. Stephen Zoccoli becomes the Vice President and the fourth generation to manage the Company.

• 1995 Costa adds its first salesperson.

• 1998 Costa adds the 65th pasta item, the largest line in the Industry.

• 1999 Costa plant expansion includes a new warehouse section and state-of-the-art long pasta line.

• 2001 Costa sales exceed 20 Million pounds, with sales in 13 western states and overseas.

• 2005 - Pasta Montana continues the tradition of excellence by producing and distributing the Costa Pasta brand
